how our tofu made
Harvesting – Our Non-GMO Soyabean are harvested from Aussie farm in Queensland and New South Wale
Preparing the Soybeans – Tofu production begins with soaking and grinding the soybeans before cooking
Cooking the Soybeans – The soybeans get boiled down and they’re squeezed through a fine mesh screen in order to separate the soymilk and soy pulp, a process known as filtration.
Solidifying the Soymilk – The remaining soymilk gets pumped into curding vats and a firming agent is mixed in order to curd the milk, very similar to how cheese is made!
Pressing the tofu – depending on the type of tofu, the curds are then pressed to drain off any additional liquid. The firmer the tofu, the more pressing they receive!
Cut & Packaged – Cutters slice the cake tofu into individual blocks and are sent to packaging where they’re sealed, pasteurized and prepared for shipping.
